Formex

J'espère que vous avez passé un excellent été! Comme vous avez pu le constater, j'ai pris un peu de vacances... Après avoir passé quelques semaines en famille en Suède, je suis de retour à Paris depuis hier soir, mais seulement pour refaire mes bagages et repartir à Copenhague demain!

Mon séjour en Suède n'était pas uniquement des vacances, j'ai quand même travaillé un peu aussi... J'ai notamment fait un saut rapide à Stockholm pour visiter le salon Formex! Objectif: faire le plein d'inspiration et trouver des nouveaux produits pour le shop.

I hope you've had a great summer! As you might have noticed, I took some time off... After having spent some family time in Sweden these last few weeks, I'm back in Paris since last night only to repack my bags and leave for Copenhagen tomorrow!

My stay in Sweden was not all about vacation, I also did some work... Like a quick trip to Stockholm to visit the Formex fair for example! Goal: fill up on inspiration and find some new products for the shop.

Vous avez peut-être déjà vu plein de photos de Formex sur les blogs scandinaves, alors je ne vais pas vous ennuyer avec un compte rendu complet du salon... Mais si ce n'est pas le cas ou si vous en voulez encore, voici mes impressions et coups de coeur!

Pour résumer, j'ai vu du cuivre absolument PARTOUT, pas mal de laiton, beaucoup de gris sobre mais aussi des endroits l'éclectiques et colorés ("Eclectic touch" était d'ailleurs le thème de Formex cette fois-ci), et plein de produits en bois et en rotin. Je n'ai rien vu de très innovant, mais j'ai trouvé quelques jolis objets quand même.

You might have seen quite a few pictures from Formex already on the Scandinavian blogs so I won't bore you with a complete review of the fair... But in case you haven't or still want more, here are my impressions and favourites from the fair!

To sum up, I saw copper absolutey EVERYWHERE, quite a lot of brass, lots of sober grey but also eclectic and colorful areas ("Eclectic touch" was the theme of this Formex btw), and many products in wood and rattan. I didn't see anything really innovative, but I did find a few nice things.

House Doctor a montré plein de beaux produits comme d'habitude, mais cette année leur stand était aussi beaucoup plus aéré, clair et inspirant que les années précédentes (la 1ère photo du post vient aussi de leur stand).
House Doctor showed lots of nice products as usual, but this year their booth was much more airy, light and inspiring than previous years (the 1st photo in this post is also from their booth).

La marque suédoise Tell me more était une nouvelle connaissance dont j'ai beaucoup aimé les coussins tricotés et les bougies parfumés avec leurs boites graphiques.
Swedish brand Tell me more was a new acquaintance and I really liked the knitted cushions and the sented candles with graphic boxes.

La marque danoise H. Skjalm P. a lancé des vases, pots et plateaux dans des matériaux tendances: cuivre, laiton et marbre.

Katarina Stark a crée une superbe collection de vases+arrosoir qui était nominée pour le prix Formex Formidable.
Katarina Stark has created a great collection of vases+watering can which was nominated to the Formex Formidable award.

Les plaids patchwork de RioRio étaient nominés pour le prix Formex Formidable.

House of Rym associe savoir-faire tunisien et design scandinave (j'en ai déjà parlé ici) dans une jolie collection de "mix and match".
House of Rym combines Tunisian craftmanship with Scandinavian design (I've already written about them here) in a pretty "mix and match" collection.

Nouvelle lampe de table en béton de Tove Adman - simple et beau.

Dans la partie Young Designers j'ai trouvé ce tabouret sympa et étonnement confortable, créé par Patrik Nilsson.
In the Young Designers area I found this nice and surprisingly comfortable stool created by Patrik Nilsson.  

Dans la même zone: une sublime lampe-chapeau créé par Bymars. La photo qui se trouvait sur le stand était presque aussi jolie que la lampe elle-même.
In the same area: a stunning hat-lamp created by Bymars. The photo in the booth was almost as beautiful as the lamp itself.

Je suis toujours fan de la simplicité graphique de Jollygoodfellow.
I'm still a fan of Jollygoodfellow's graphic simplicity.

Ylva Skarp ne déçoit jamais et a proposé des nouveaux prints très chouettes.

La marque danoise Menu avait un stand inspirant et rempli de beaux produits comme le fabuleux Flip around table, également nominée pour le prix Formex Formidable.
Danish brand Menu had an inspiring booth filled with great products like the fabulous Flip around table, nominated for the Formex Formidable award as well.

Beckmans - photo final Therese Sennerholt

Voilà enfin les photos que notre groupe a réalisé dimanche dernier dans le cadre de la formation de stylisme avec Lotta Agaton à Beckmans Akademi à Stockholm. Notre tâche était de mettre en scène la toute nouvelle collection de cartes de Therese Sennerholt :) On avait aussi la chance de pouvoir travailler dans les Delight Studios, une ancienne usine convertie en studio photo - fabuleux!

Here comes finally the photos that our group of students created last Sunday during the styling classes with Lotta Agaton at Beckmans Akademi in Stockholm. Our task was to style the brand new collection of cards from Therese Sennerholt :) We were also very lucky to be able to work in the Delight Studios, a former factory converted into photo studio - fabulous!

Bar Central

Quand j'étais à Stockholm pour l'évènement blogger, Emma nous avait emmené diner du côté de Nytorget, dans le quartier de Söder. Urban Déli étant complet, on s'est retrouvé à Bar Central, un restaurant voisin aux influences d'Europe de l'Est qui s'est avéré être un excellent choix! La cuisine, la déco, le service, l'ambiance - tout était parfait. Hier je suis tombée sur les photos du restaurant ici, alors à défaut de pouvoir partager avec vous le repas et tout le reste, je peux au moins partager la déco! When I was in Stockholm for the Blogger event, Emma took us to Nytorget, in the Söder area, for dinner. Urban Deli was full, so we ended up at Bar Central, a restaurant next door with Eastern Europe influences which turned out to be a great choice! The food, the interiors, the service, the atmosphere - everything was perfect. Yesterday I ran into photos from the restaurant here, and as I can't share the food and all the rest with you, I thought I could at least share the interiors! Stockholm Design week

Un dernier post sur ma semaine à Stockholm pour vous montrer quelques images de la Design Week. Toute la semaine était remplie d'évènements, mais moi je n'avais que le lundi à y consacrer, alors la journée était plutôt chargée! Invitée par Trendgruppen, j'ai enchainé les présentations presse toute la journée, à commencer par le petit déjeuner à Operakällaren, où les gagnants des ELLE Design Awards (Suède) 2013 ont été annoncés...

One last post about my week in Stockholm in order to show you a few pictures from the Design Week. The whole week was filled with events, but I only had one day to spend so my Monday was pretty full! I was invited by Trendgruppen and went from one press event to the other the whole day, starting with a breakfast at Operakällaren, where the winners of the ELLE Design Awards (Sweden) 2013 were announced...

Dans l'après-midi, on s'est rendu à l'hôtel Nobis, où Giovanni Alessi et Monica Förster ont présenté le résultat de la récente collaboration entre la marque italienne et la designer suédoise...

In the afternoon we went to the Nobis hotel, where Giovanni Alessi et Monica Förster presented the result of the recent cooperation between the Italian brand and the Swedish designer...

On a également vu l'exposition Wood Punk que j'ai beaucoup aimé - une sélection d'installations et d'objets contemporains en bois...

J'ai terminé la journée comme elle avait commencé, c'est-à-dire par les ELLE Design Awards, mais en version soirée gala cette fois-ci! Ici vous trouverez la liste complète des gagnants.

Meet the Blogger

Le weekend dernier j'avais donc participé à Meet the Blogger, un évènement qui a réuni des bloggeurs venant de tout l'Europe à l'hotel Scandic Grand Central à Stockholm. Pendant deux jours, nous avons écouté des présentations, participé aux ateliers et visité des magasins de déco. Honnêtement, je n'ai pas appris énormément de choses, mais j'ai tout de même ramené quelques bonnes idées et astuces. Le point fort du weekend était définitivement de rencontrer les autres bloggeurs. C'est fantastique de finalement voir ces personnes que l'on a seulement connues sur internet avant, puis de passer des moments aussi sympa ensemble!
(et malheureusement, je n'ai que quelques photos de téléphone portable pourries à vous montrer...)

So last weekend I participated in Meet the Blogger, an event that gathered bloggers from all over Europe at the Scandic Grand Central in Stockholm. During two days we listened to presentations, participated in workshops and visited interior design shops. I honestly didn't learn that much, but I did take a few good ideas and tips with me back home. The highlight of the weekend was definitely meeting up with the other bloggers. It's fantastic to finally meet people you've only known over the internet before and then spend such great moments together!
(and unfortunately I only have some lousy mobile photos to show you...)

Un peu de shopping...

Quelques nouveautés chez moi... Certaines ont été ramenées de Stockholm, d'autres chinées ou trouvées en ligne. D'ailleurs, le meilleur moment de mon tour shopping à Stockholm était définitivement la visite de la boutique de Lotta Agaton, où je suis allée avec quelques unes de mes chouettes copines bloggeuses suédoises après le salon Formex. C'est simple, j'ai TOUT aimé dans la boutique de Lotta :)

A few new things at home... Some of them brought back from Stockholm, others thrifted or found online. By the way, the highlight of my shopping tour in Stockholm was definitely Lotta Agaton's shop, which I visited with some of my sweet Swedish blogfriends after the Formex fair. It's simple, I loved EVERYTHING in Lotta's shop :)

Les tasses avec la typographie d'Arne Jacobsen, la main en bois et le pot de fleur noir viennent tous de la boutique de Lotta Agaton à Stockholm, la théière en fonte a été chinée en France, le plateau vient de Svenskt Tenn à Stockholm, les poupées russes noires de Muji à Paris, et le print Stockholm a été commandé en ligne chez Localgraphics.

The mugs with Arne Jacobsen's typography, the wooden hand and the black flower pot all come from Lotta Agaton's shop in Stockholm, the cast iron teapot was thrifted in France, the tray comes from Svenskt Tenn in Stockholm, the black Russian dolls from Muji in Paris, and the Stockholm print was ordered online from Localgraphics.

L'une de mes stylistes préférées, Lotta Agaton, ouvre une boutique à Stockholm aujourd'hui et j'aime beaucoup ce que j'ai vu pour l'instant! Définitivement sur ma liste des endroits à visiter lors de ma prochaine visite en Suède, et à rajouter à mon guide des magasins déco de Stockholm. La boutique n'est ouverte que le jeudi, mais un webshop est aussi prévue par la suite.

One of my favourite stylists Lotta Agaton is opening a store in Stockholm today and I love what I've seen so far! Definitively on my list of places to visit on my next trip to Sweden, and also add to my design shopping guide for Stockholm. The store is only open on Thursdays, but a webshop is planned later on as well.
